As part of
an early effort to begin a LIFE
TEENprogram,
the band started with a vision of being contemporary
and joyful, while respecting Christ in the Eucharist
as the true center of worship. The band gives youth
and adults a fresh way of joining together in singing
praise to God at Mass every Sunday afternoon. Join
us at 5:30 p.m. Mass and then Life Teen after Mass
in the Youth Center!

HISTORY
The Saint Pius X
Youth Mass Band (also known as the SPX
Band) was formed in late 1998 and played it's
first mass in January of 1999. Tim Kroeger was the organizer,
manager and sound man at that time. Tim would later join
in playing acoustic guitar and singing.
The first lineup
included Mick Boudreau (vocals/guitar) and Scott Myers
(drums), along with Rene Malette (vocals), T.J. Tomazin
(vocals/guitar), Doug Lane (piano), and Daniel (an exchange
student from Germany) on bass and violin.
Other members have included
Michelle Barerra (vocals), Andrew Bosquez (guitar,
vocals), Betty Boudreau (vocals), Megan
Delgadillo (vocals), Tony
Dorsey (bass), Heath
Garcia (percussion), Dwayne
Lambert (bass), Duane
Moeller (bass), Camille
Morrison (vocals), Scott
Myers (drums), and Rob Schulz (electric guitar).
The band's
repertory includes popular praise and worship, time-tested
standards, and a few original songs.
If you are interested in joining the Youth Mass Band,
please contact Mick
Boudreau. In particular we are looking
for a bass player!
